About me

WALKING, I AM LISTENING TO A DEEPER WAY. SUDDENLY ALL MY ANCESTORS ARE BEHIND ME. BE STILL THEY SAY, WATCH AND LISTEN. YOU ARE THE RESULT OF THE LOVE OF THOUSANDS.
— Linda Hogan

I pay my respect to the original custodians of this land now known as Australia, and honour the true leaders; past, present and emerging. I give thanks for this privilege to be born on this sacred ground and I work, rest, play and pray here with reverence to nature as my creator and the earth as my altar.

I too pay homage to my own wise and well ancestors; the Celtic Pagans from the Northern Lands. I honour their ancient relationship to the plants, animals, elements, seasons and cycles. I recognise their magic in me, in the form of ritual, ceremony, dance, music, natural medicine and nature craft. And I carry the torch through these times to support others in the remembering and reclamation of the gifts of their earth worshipping lineage, to be in right relation with all that is, for the greatest good of all.

"As a qualified, experienced and passionate advocate of the ancient healing arts, I employ the most simple and effective practices of ritual, ceremony, movement, music, creativity, food and medicine to summon our innate power and connection to a Healing Source, which is naturally regenerative, an eternal." Melanie Gunn

I am often asked who my teachers are and what lineage I follow and the most truthful answer is Nature.

I was born in Melbourne, Australia and as a child I was always deeply inspired and intrigued by nature. I loved to create beauty, to sing and to dance, and I was fascinated by the elements, the natural world and the unseen forces.

During my early 20’s I sought formal education in Natural Health Science and Transpersonal Creative Therapy to support me through my own personal healing crises and transformational process. I remembered some fundamental truths about our human nature and rediscovered the spiritual prosperity within these simple elemental principles.

I travelled the world, working for and volunteering with organisations aimed at preserving Traditional Medicines in India, East Timor, Europe and South America. What I found along my way is that at the core of most, if not all traditional cultures, there is deep value, respect and appreciation placed upon the power of dance, music, art, nature, the elements and ritual to maintain a quality of connection to their human nature and spirit.

I worked with and for many medicine carriers, healers, shaman, musicians, artists, dancers and facilitators, and through these life changing experiences was lead to find my purpose, gifts and offerings. My 12 year power plant medicine journey has made me a passionate advocate for and practitioner of trauma-informed somatic integration techniques, to support myself and others in embodying the change we want to see in the world.

I have spent most of my life immersed in women’s mystery teachings and circle work as a participant, host and facilitator, nurturing my natural feminine affinity for providing safe, nourishing, healing, empowering and transformational spaces for myself and others. I naturally birthed my daughter in our home in the Northern Rivers, NSW. This rite of passage into motherhood initiated the integration of my life’s purpose, spiritual calling and earth work. I devote my life in service to the great mother of all that is and honour all life as sacred.

When I made my first drum over 15 years ago, I never imagined that it would become my most reliable and loyal teacher, ally, healing instrument, shamanic tool and friend. Within the sacred symbology and mythology of the drum, the seasons, cycles and sacred circle, I found my way back to a central source of all things. Where everything is connected. Where I am anchored in light in the well of my being.

I look forward to be woven into and through one another’s life journey.

At the end, as at the beginning, stands the archetypal power of the Divine Feminine - The Goddess. She is our future as she was our past. With her Drum in hand, playing her sacramental rhythms, women can once again take their place in the world as technicians of the sacred. In the pulse of my drum, in the beat of my heart, I erect an altar to her forever

I first heard this song sang by Christine Stevens and naturally added some extra verses because I could hear them coming through. I hope it inspires you to embrace the natural essence of your most authentic voice.
